Client portfolio: Prosper
Two bestselling authors, into a category they had never sold in.
NYT, Amazon and USA Today at once.
Ethan Willis and Randy Garn run a coaching company in Salt Lake City. Willis was already a #1 New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling co-author, and Garn is also a New York Times bestselling author — but the campaign put Prosper on three bestseller lists at once, in a category neither had sold in before.
Source: digital marketing assessment, 2017, p.8. Figures that circulated with this campaign but have no source on file — a pass-along rate, a coaching roster count, a free session offer — are deliberately not shown here.
How it worked
A viral program where every person who engaged passed it to seven more, built around Prosper's Prosperity Profile assessment — a self-scored survey that routed every result to the paid coaching programs. It was the qualifying step, not the giveaway. The book climbed three bestseller lists at once.
Why it matters to you
Success in one field does not carry over into publishing on its own. If you are entering a new arena — a first book, a new audience, a category you have never sold into — this is the case that shows the whole chain, from a stranger seeing a video to a calendar with no gaps in it.
